Saturday, March 6 at 4pm our concert series presents Keith Critcher's annual recital"Adagios for Reflection."
Saturday, March 6, 4:00 p.m. in the Choir Suite, Our EDCC Concert Series presents “Adagios for Reflection: A Chamber Recital.” This is my “annual” recital within our concert series as I have a great love for: (1) Collaborating with other musicians in making music and (2) A strong passion for creating music that allows myself and others the opportunity to slow down, meditate, reflect, and enjoy beautiful melodies and harmonies. The concert could almost be called more appropriately: “Adagios for Introspection or Contemplation.”
Adagio a tempo marking indicating that the music is to be played slowly.
Introspection is the self-observation and reporting of conscious inner thoughts, desires and sensations. It is a conscious mental and usually purposive process relying on thinking, reasoning, and examining one's own thoughts, feelings, and (in more spiritual cases,) one's soul. Introspection may be used synonymously with self-reflection and/or contemplation used in a similar way.
The concert will feature myself as pianist collaborating with: Andrea Talladino, Soprano; Maria Harman, Flute; Akiko Nakahara and Michael Plantz Pianists; and members of our Chancel Choir. The program will include themes of dreaming, nature, seasons, love: human and divine. Art , poetry, and staging will be included to help guide your thoughts. The music will include Classical, Sacred, Broadway, Nostalgic and Popular songs.
