Deborah Morgan, Sr. Minister
Deborah is a native Dallasite who graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1980. She attended TCU where she received her B.S. in Education, and spent three years teaching public school at L. G. Pinkston High School in West Dallas.
During her time as a teacher, Deborah’s call to ministry intensified, and so, acknowledging Christ’s invitation, she made her way to Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, TN, where she completed her Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained in 1990 at her home congregation, Northway Christian Church.
First Christian Church of Waynesboro, TN., was Deborah’s first call after seminary. She comes to East Dallas Christian Church after 14 years of ministry serving Saguaro Christian Church in Tucson, Arizona.
Deborah is single, but always tells folks she’s part of a large extended family—the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is the past chair of the Week of Compassion committee, and is currently serving as a director on the Board of Church Extension.
Deborah is proud to be a part of the East Dallas Christian Church family—and is excited about the next chapter in God’s holy work that we will write together.
Nathan Hill, Minister of Church Life
Nathan was born and raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and graduated from Cameron University in Lawton, OK. While he was in college, Nathan experienced his call to ministry while attending Cameron Campus Ministry, and later, First Christian Church. At both places, he developed his skills as a church leader, helped launch contemporary worship services, and connected with young adults curious about faith.
After college, Nathan participated in a year-long internship through National City Christian Church in Washington D.C. which focused on urban ministry. After the year of service, Nathan decided to attend Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. He graduated this past May.
Throughout his time in seminary Nathan continued to be an active member of National City Christian Church, helping to lead their growing young adult group. He also worked with their evangelism team, helping the church think of new ways to reach out to their neighborhood. He was also employed by the Capital Area Region of the Christian Church, helping them with their regional young adult program. In addition, Nathan served on our denominational Young Adult Commission and was one of the planners for the Young Adult pre-event at the 2007 General Assembly in Ft. Worth.
Nathan is a singer and songwriter, filmmaker, and published author.
Nathan is married to a fellow seminarian Yunkyong, and they have two children, Emily and Joseph.
