from our Senior Minister

Greetings from East Dallas Christian Church! We are a vital congregation on the east edge of downtown Dallas, and on the cutting edge of ministry in the larger Metroplex.
We may be the church home for which you have been seeking:
*You will discover the diversity of all God’s people gathered on Sunday mornings as we lift up our hearts in prayer and praise in the magnificent sanctuary that proclaims God’s awe and majesty.
*You will find the outlet for your yearning to make a difference in the world through the variety of mission opportunities we offer.
*You will grow in knowledge of scripture through sermons on Sunday morning, and from Bible studies that meet throughout the week.
*You will hear the laughter of children, the music of youth, and the excited conversations of God’s people of all ages as they gather to learn and to fellowship in the many small groups offered.
*Your soul will thrill to the glory of hymns and anthems lifted to God by our choir each Sunday.
*You will experience the grace of God as revealed through Jesus Christ in the broken places of your life that need to be healed.
This is an exciting place to be, and you are invited to share in the excitement—the divine joy--as we continue to follow Christ’s call for us in this place.
We look forward to your visit with us. There is a place waiting for you at East Dallas Christian Church.

to know Deborah
Deborah is a native Dallasite who graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1980. She attended TCU where she received her B.S. in Education, and spent three years teaching public school at L. G. Pinkston High School in West Dallas.
During her time as a teacher, Deborah’s call to ministry intensified, and so, acknowledging Christ’s invitation, she made her way to Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, TN, where she completed her Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained in 1990 at her home congregation, Northway Christian Church.
First Christian Church of Waynesboro, TN., was Deborah’s first call after seminary. She comes to East Dallas Christian Church after 14 years of ministry serving Saguaro Christian Church in Tucson, Arizona.
Deborah is single, but always tells folks she’s part of a large extended family—the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is the past chair of the Week of Compassion committee, and is currently serving as a director on the Board of Church Extension.
Deborah is proud to be a part of the East Dallas Christian Church family—and is excited about the next chapter in God’s holy work that we will write together.
